ColonBroom Review: ingredients list

There is only one key ingredient in ColonBroom, and that is Psyllium Husk.

What is Psyllium Husk?

Psyllium husk is a form of soluble fiber derived from the seeds of Plantago ovata, a special herb primarily sourced in India. Many supplement companies primarily sell Psyllium as a form of laxative, as it does an amazing job of helping you pass through waste as if you ate a lot of vegetables the other day.

Being a soluble fiber, Psyllium is credited for having benefits related to cardiovascular health, especially when it comes to managing cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Because of how it positively affects cardiovascular health, psyllium proponents suggest it can also improve longevity.

What does Psyllium Husk do for digestive health?

Psyllium does a tremendous job at making bowel movement effortless while retaining its “natural” appeal, unlike other synthetic laxatives. What makes it different is how Psyllium works a lot like eating a whole plate of leafy green vegetables or a small bowl of broccoli in one sitting. The best part? It doesn’t increase flatulence or promote bloating/gassiness.

Psyllium Husk and Immunity

Other than a toilet aide, psyllium husk is also considered a prebiotic. A prebiotic is any substance that makes your gut conducive for healthy bacteria to grow.

There is plenty of evidence to suggest a healthy gut is linked to stronger immunity. This is especially because over 70% of our immune system (that is, our immune cells) is found in the gut. This makes sense considering the food we eat lands in our gut, and the nutrients needed to maintain immunity are absorbed or metabolized there too.

Therefore, the most efficient way to grow your immune cells needs to be as close to the nutrient source as possible, and you can’t get any closer than your gut.

Can you lose weight with Psyllium Husk?

One of the more popular selling points of psyllium husk is how it promotes weight loss. No, it doesn’t make you “excrete the weight away,” but it works as an appetite suppressant.

Unlike insoluble fiber, soluble fiber is sensitive to water. It reacts by creating this gel, which makes it feel like you’re full. In a way, you can say psyllium husk “tricks” the body into thinking it doesn’t need food anymore. The less you eat, the fewer calories. Fewer calories per day can translate to weight loss.

Because it can help reduce food intake, Psyllium has also been cited to help manage blood sugar levels and promote insulin sensitivity, especially if you have Type 2 Diabetes.

Don’t take too much Psyllium!

Just like any other nutrient, you can have too much Psyllium.

While there is no standard dosage for Psyllium, many companies don’t go beyond 5 grams per serving because you’re not supposed to just get fiber from a sachet and instead from fruits and vegetables.

Beyond a nutritional viewpoint, too much Psyllium can lead to a reverse effect and cause constipation. If you take too much and the gel is too big (or if you don’t drink enough water), your colon can and will have a hard time removing it from your system. So be sure to adhere to the dosage instructions.

ColonBroom Review: formula analysis

ColonBroom’s formula relies on just one key ingredient in the form of Psyllium Husk. Should they have made a more complex formula? It depends entirely on what they’re aiming for.

On its own, psyllium husk powder just works. There’s barely anything that makes it harmful for the body outside of overdosing, and most health practitioners would agree that people generally need more fiber nowadays.

Who is ColonBroom made for?

ColonBroom is primarily marketed toward those who want to relieve constipation, lose weight and cleanse their body.

The fiber supplement can benefit those who want to lose weight without the overly complicated formulas filled with ingredients they don’t have time to Google. At the very least, ColonBroom is relatively simple and straightforward regarding how it works and what it can do.

ColonBroom Review: side effects

The one significant side effect of taking Psyllium is when you take too much. This can cause constipation or even digestion problems, effects totally opposite to the benefits associated with soluble fiber intake.

Most people would feel bloated or gassy at first, but it’s often because their system is still adjusting to taking a fiber supplement.

However, if you do feel something that’s not supposed to happen, stop taking ColonBroom and seek professional help.
